Our Story

The Wolf Pack is a competitive Flesh and Blood TCG team founded by Ian Shaffer, Timothy Bunn, and Zach Bunn. The team was born from the ashes of a series of miscommunications and unset expectations that led to a surprising loss of their “testing group” with only five weeks before Pro Tour #1. You can learn a bit more about our first year on this blog post.

To ensure something similar didn’t happen with the Wolf Pack, a set of beliefs were created to clearly set expectations for the team. Those beliefs were refined and evolved into the list below.

  1. We are a team. For us, playing card games competitively is a lot more enjoyable and fulfilling with a group of people we enjoy, trust, and respect. We care as much about our teammates’ success as we do our own. We share information, feedback, and credit openly with each other. We bring issues to light and discuss them.
  2. We love the game, and the process. Everyone on the team is on the team because we love the game and have fun playing it. We all desire to be as good at the game as we can be and take that pursuit seriously, but that can’t get in the way of enjoying the process.
  3. We pursue mastery. We aim to be the best Flesh and Blood TCG players we can be. We also aim to be the best team in FAB. For us, best is not just about winning or ELO rankings. It’s also about how we win and lose. If we can’t be the kind of players or team we want to compete against, we’ve failed. We’ve got to be able to win and lose well, publicly and privately.
  4. We aren’t here for money. We don’t pool or split prizes. We don’t pressure teammates to play in certain events or with certain heroes or decks. We want everyone to play what they’re excited about and do as well as they can.
